CM Bommai instructs DCs to work with time consciousness
All District Collectors of the state should help people by taking timely decisions. Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai has given a stern instruction that one should act with timeliness and consciousness.
While presiding over the meeting of District Collectors at Vidhansouda Conference Hall today, he said that for an IAS officer, serving as District Collector is a very important opportunity. What matters is how you leave a footprint in the district. Now many officials see only the power part of the post of District Collector.
It does not take into account the effect of responsibility and administration of that post. But ruling is different, ruling is different. He said to keep this in mind and work.
You are part of the administration. You are also given more authority. He said that the decisions you take are very important in governance. If you feel like doing nothing, there are 101 reasons. A single reason is enough to do a good deed. So good governance should be given by taking timely decisions. If there are problems, seek guidance from senior officials immediately, he said.
